Was solls.

New Yorker Seiten versteht sich. Greenpoint Cheese and Meat.

See you, Claire
Friends of the spoiled palate,

Spring is calling. Loud and shrill. If there are only tiny, barely visible to the naked eye sun's rays showing, the thermometer rises a millimeter toward summer temperatures ... then yes ... women are acting crazy. The mini skirt is shaken out of hibernation, the Hot pans are aired out and the sandals are getting polished to a high gloss. In my opinion, that’s far too early and everything is over the top. And a bit embarrassing too.

For me spring always begins only after I need to start worrying about my winter rolls and I’m supposed to say goodbye to them. Emphasis is on "supposed to". My winter fat (lovingly called Mr. Bacon) and I have a common, wonderful time behind us. We are close. That is why I find it so hard to say Good-bye. Unfortunately, it is not enough to just open the door and tell Mr. Bacon politely but firmly to leave. No no. That would be too easy.

The only way is a a diet (unkindly called Miss BigDislike). My personal bitch. We will never become a team. We always share a short distance only, I exit at the first opportunity, make a long-range detour or won’t come back at all. The latter is the norm. What the hell.

Yes, I like to eat. For this reason, I roam around culinary websites forever. New York pages of course. My last "Find" is a great deli in Brooklyn, 192 Driggs Avenue ... Greenpoint Cheese and Meat. There you can score delicious sandwich, tasty sausages and savory cheese. Of course there are other things to buy such as mustard, honey, chocolate, drinks or spices. It all looks delicious and seductive and you can feel that the owners Jess and Uschi put a lot of heart into their work. I surely want to visit there and sniff the cheese, order a sandwich and poke around a little ... I'm looking forward to it now ...

For more information on the website www.gpcheeseandmeat.com or via Facebook and Instagram.

Now I cannot  keep on writing, have to put together a shopping list ... precautionary I’ve stored the coordinates on my mobile phone. Better safe than sorry. Oh, I wrote a Goodbye note to Miss BigDislike. Better is better. See you, Claire

State Building Run up". 1.576 Stufen.

See you, Claire

Friends of the break snacks,

Last week I stopped by at a young girlfriend of mine who has diverse interests while she was attending to one of her hobbies. This time it was gymnastics. This also looks fairly  simple, however darn it is not but. This time my inner attitude was relaxed. Casual plunging from a relaxed seated position. For visualization here Photo:

The gymnast girls trained hard and long. I was very proud of my young friend. A particularly beautiful pose figure stuck in my mind. The state of balance.

When I saw the snapshot photo of this "figure", I was wondering if life is always in equilibrium.

Is it possible to keep your life always balanced, relaxation and performance that are in a steady state? Or is one side always a bit heavier? Weighs performance more than relaxation? Does it need more rest and relaxation to be in line with the performance or work?

The question is this: Is it possible to reach height with the same amount of relaxation?

To visualize the questions * cough * ... every February a flight of stairs run in New York City "Empire State Building Run Up" takes place. 1,576 steps. 320 meters difference in altitude. Who reaches the top first wins. This year a German won. Took approximately 10 minutes ... The effort is set as “very difficult". The relaxation is probably as light as a feather. You may be are the first to reach the top however completely exhausted and out of breath. How about you walk up a few stairs ... then take a break, breath, eat an apple, rest, and then run full of energy to the next floor ... then the scale would be balanced, right?

Well, I know that is not what it is about the run up ... but as a symbol it is sufficient enough. Here's a little video from previous years ...

But one thing I got to tell you ... I like to ride the escalator ...; o)

See you, Claire

Die Sache mit der Körperbeherrschung/The thing with the body control

See you, Claire

Friends of the pocket heater.

I'm back. I was not gone, just not here.

A few days ago I was fortunate to watch a child friend in ballet class. Young, babbling students with a bun streamed into the room. The chatter and giggles ended abruptly as the Ballet teacher entered the studio. I winced inwardly and sat down immediately, straightening up.

These young girls know what is expected of them in that training session. Attention, pipe down, and discipline. It started with a small warm up round and then well behaved at the bar. The ballet teacher asked for motions that sounded beautiful. Rond de jambe par terre, demi-plie or fondu. And positions. First, second, third ...

I sat in my spectator chair and would have wanted to applause in delight, it was just so enchanting.

This was the first time I was able to experience ballet up so close. Years ago, I once saw the ballet performance "Romeo and Juliet" with one of  my girlfriends. I liked it at the time. But the liking of ballet I quickly forgot  about, rather made jokes about political dance theater and male ballet dancers.

But this time it was different. It was a delight to see the grace and this wonderful body control. I also enjoyed the music. I relaxed but suspiciously observed the teachers corrections, which of course were not necessary in my glorified eyes.

I wasn’t aware ballet consisted of so many small puzzle pieces. An elongated toe, another precise arm movements and please, head tilting in grace.

Ballet is a work of art. Many years of training, focused body control and the passion for dance and movement.

Suitable to the subject a movie now premiers in New York. Then it will be projected across the country in selected cinemas only.

I would love to watch it. Let's see if I can make it to New York over the weekend. * dream *
